The Irish American Hockey Association will once again be sponsoring the Boston Bruins Alumni team as the make their 2nd visit to the Emerald Isle to benefit the development of youth hockey in Ireland.
Last years visit to Ireland by the Bruins Alumni was a tremendous success as a significant amount of money was raised in Ireland of which 100% remained in Ireland to benefit the growth of youth hockey.

This years trip will be even more outstanding as the Boston Bruins themselves will be playing in Belfast alongside the Irish American Hockey Association and the Bruins Alumni Team.
This year, the Irish American Hockey Association and the Boston Bruins Alumni invite you to join their team and play Hockey / Golf in Ireland October 2010 to benefit Youth Hockey in Ireland!
The Irish American Hockey Association will be sponsoring the Bruins Alumni as they play two charity ice hockey games in Dundalk, Ireland to directly benefit kids who play youth hockey in Ireland.
With the opening of Ireland’s first and only ice hockey rink in December 2006; the kids of Ireland have taken to the game of ice hockey like no other sport and the passion and devotion to the sport is infectious as the game of ice hockey begins to grow in Ireland.
The Irish American Hockey Association has worked tirelessly with a number of youth hockey groups in Ireland including the Dundalk Bulls who are co-sponsored last years event in Ireland. Aeidamar Sally of the Dundalk Bulls organizes cross border ice hockey games with the Belfast Junior Giants and other teams from Northern Ireland and Scotland. Aeidamar points out that “It is fantastic to see Catholic and Protestant kids mixing and becoming fast friends, particularly in the under 10/12s age group. These kids who would never have met if not for their love of Ice Hockey and these young hockey players are developing real and measurable friendships across the border due to their common interest and love of the game of ice hockey”.
Join the Bruins Alumni team in Ireland with Terry O’Reilly, Brad Park, Ray Bourque, Bob Sweeney, PJ Stock, Rick Middleton, Andy Brickley, Bob Beers. Cam Neely, John Wensink, Gary Doak, Steve Leach and South Boston’s own Billy O’Dwyer as they play golf and hockey in the Olde Sod while raising money for youth programs in Ireland *Lineup subject to change.
Accommodations for the Bruins Alumni team and guests of the Irish American Hockey Association will be at the seaside village of Malahide Ireland at the Malahide Grande Hotel overlooking the Irish Sea. The golf outings scheduled for those accompanying the team and guests of the Irish American Hockey Association are at the world famous “Portmarnock Golf Club”, The Island Course in Malahide and at the home of the 2009 Irish Open “Baltray Golf Club” in the seaside town of Drogheda.
To subsidize the trip to Ireland, we are offering a very limited number of player spots on the Boston Bruins Alumni Team as well as a few additional packages for those who wish to be a part of this historic trip. A few lucky players will be chosen to “Be A Bruin” for the entire time in Ireland. Golf at the finest courses in Ireland with the Bruins, Play Hockey on the Bruins Alumni Team in front of sold out crowds at the Dundalk Ice Dome and dine and enjoy a few Irish ballads with the Bruins Alumni at private receptions and fanfare events during our Golf/Hockey stay in Ireland.
While enjoying this once in a lifetime trip, you’ll be instrumental in the growth and development of youth hockey in Ireland.

Bruins “Green” Package includes: If you’d like to be a part of the trip and are only interested in playing golf with the Bruins in Ireland but don’t want to skate, then this is the package for you. The “Bruins Green” package includes a direct Aer Lingus flight from Boston to Ireland with the Bruins Alumni team, private room accommodations at the seaside Grande Hotel in Malahide where the B’s are staying, transportation on the ground in Ireland to and from all Boston Bruins Alumni events, admission to all games and private Irish Hockey and Bruins Alumni functions and receptions in Ireland as well as green fees to all 3 courses the Bruins Alumni and guests of Irish Hockey will be playing. Space is limited to 16 golfers ONLY!
Bruins “Gold” Package includes: If you’d like to be a part of the trip and play both golf and hockey with while in Ireland, then this is the package for you! The “Bruins Gold” package includes a direct Aer Lingus flight from Boston to Ireland with the Bruins Alumni team, private room accommodations at the Seaside Grande Hotel in Malahide with the Bruins Alumni team, the opportunity to be a part of the Irish American All-Star Hockey team who will play a game of hockey Friday night vs. the Boston Bruins Alumni at the Ice Dome in Ireland. Enjoy a few pints at the private post game party with the Irish American All-Stars and the Bruins Alumni team at a traditional Irish Pub close to the rink. Package includes an official team jersey, team socks, teammates from Ireland and other European Countries, team photo with the Bruins and game action photos. The Bruins “Gold Package” also includes admission to all games and private Irish Hockey and Bruins Alumni functions and receptions in Ireland as well as green fees to all 3 courses with the Bruins Alumni Hockey team. Bruins “Emerald” Package includes: Be a Bruin! You are a Boston Bruin Alumni for the entire trip! Travel on the team bus as part of the team, dress in the Bruins Alumni locker room as a member of the Boston Bruins Alumni Hockey Team, play two hockey games in Ireland as a part of the Bruins Alumni team and be in all of the Bruins Alumni media print programs as well as pre and post game introductions. Stay at the team hotel; dine and drink with the Bruins Alumni team at post game receptions, golf with the Bruins Alumni at three of the best courses in all of Ireland and more importantly take home the life lasting memories of skating in Ireland with a Bruins Game jersey on your back. Members of The Irish American Hockey Association as well as the Boston Bruins Alumni team will also be conducting on ice skills clinics for the kids of Ireland during their visit to the Olde Sod.
Last year, the Duffy boys along with former Bruins greats John Wensink, Rick Middleton, Bobby Carpenter, Bob Sweeney, Reggie Lemelin and Cleon Daskalakis were incredibly generous with their time both on and off the ice while teaching the young Irish Hockey players some of he finer points of the game.
The Irish American Hockey Association continues to assist youth hockey efforts in Ireland including helping the Dundalk Bulls who are one of the organizations that directly benefit (financially and with equipment donations) from the Annual "Irish Ice Hockey Classic" held each year in Boston every St. Patrick's Day week-end.
Many of the same children who participated in last years games and clinics in Ireland headed to Boston in March 2010 to be a part of the 3rd annual Irish American Ice Hockey Classic.
The Irish American Hockey Association conducted clinics for the Irish Kids while in Boston as well as scheduling age appropriate scrimmages for the kids of Ireland with some local Boston youth hockey teams.
THE 40+ Irish visitors also enjoyed the Boston Bruins vs. Pittsburg Penguins on Thursday evening, March 18, 2010 from the comfort of 2 luxury suites at the Garden that Bob Sweeney of the Boston Bruins front office was able to arrange.
