2008 Irish Hockey Classic: Cunniff Division Champions

The Irish American Hockey Association is proud to congratulate the TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS FOR the Irish American Ice Hockey Classic 2008: Glacial Energy and Boston’s own Dropkick Murphy’s Hockey Teams.

Squaring off for the Cunniff Division championship Sunday were the respective division champions Intercontinental Development Corp. and Glacial Energy USA. Intercontinental came out of the gate flying with the likes of Billy Cleary, Bill McKenna. Tommy Ashe, Devin Sullivan and Steve Centrella buzzing all of the ice. Glacial Energy, led by Joel Finley, Craig Joyce, Dan O’Neill, Steve Noonan and Garrett Giblin proved to be too much for Intercontinental to handle in the long run with the final tally being Glacial Energy 6 Intercontinental 3.

Glacial Player and GM Joel Finley took the week-end pretty seriously both on and off the ice. “ We started prepping for the Classic back in January realizing it was going to be a pretty up tempo pace both on and off the ice for the boys” Finley recently said”. We went for speed and quickness in developing our roster and it paid off over the 4 game stretch run. We gave the boys a little breathing room off the ice as well over at Hurricane O’Rielly’s and it really brought the team together.

The Irish American Hockey Association congratulates Intercontinental as well as the Cunniff division champions Glacial Energy for a great Championship game.
